Michael Reeves, a Eurasian Japanese advertising writer, is discovered in his penthouse with a slaughtered beauty. He is then caught up in a maelstrom of events intrigue, murder and espionage, culminating in a desperate effort to prevent a horrific terrorist atrocity.

He knows nothing of his life before the age of 7, not his parents, his childhood home, nothing. All his remembered life he is constantly haunted by nightmares and doubts about who he really is. At times of stress and uncertainty soft voices resonate within his head and he possesses remarkable martial arts skills with no recall of ever being trained.
While he struggles to find out who has murdered the young woman and why, he finds himself caught between the police, the CIA and criminal forces aligned with a Japanese corporation. His life is threatened and he barely survives.
He is pitted against impossible odds and, during this time, discovers secrets of his past. He experiences the arousal of love, the value of loyalty and the clash of cultures, revealing aspects of his origins.
The horrific terrorist scenario seems beyond his capacity to prevent and his acceptance of the responsibility to answer this threat signals his awakening to his real identity.
He is torn between his past and his present. He must decide between what seems to be his origins and what he believes is right.
The climax of this story finds him crouched in front of an atomic weapon in the Art Gallery of New South Wales. There are fifteen seconds left before midnight on New Years Eve and the bomb is due to explode, causing the death of a city and two million souls.
He needs the final three numbers of the firing sequence to prevent a catastrophe. They are a secret code from the distant past, signifying his identity and future. This knowledge is the key to the survival of the city. Can he discover the secret in time?

His attraction for two women motivates him to draw on all his resources, both conscious and unconscious. Constant evocations of a dimly remembered master teacher anchor and direct his innate fighting skills. The novel is enjoyable from start to finish and the action never flags.Product details
